Innovation
Hawaii's first hot mix asphalt plastics pilot project.
Grace Pacific partnered with the Hawaii Department of Transportation, Hawaii Asphalt Paving Industry, University of Hawaii, and Hawaii Pacific University on Hawaii's first hot mix asphalt plastics project.
The pilot placed 1,950 tons of hot mix asphalt containing recycled plastic, equal to roughly 195,000 plastic bottles. The material placed, compacted, and performed in the field like conventional hot mix asphalt while supporting new research into greener roads.
